Why I Do What I Do

Why I Do What I Do

Haha. I have NEVER been one to read my textbooks. None of them have been interesting enough, and I have only rarely found useful information in them. Probably don't find anything useful because I just have a really, really hard time focusing on it.

Anyways, to the point. I was reading my Interpretation of Cultural and Natural Resources textbook for the first time ever. And at the end of the Chapter 3 summary there was a poem that I really liked. It reminds me of why I'm going to school, why I spend my summers at a camp run by the Boy Scouts of America, why I try to constantly improve myself physically, mentally, and spiritually. And here it is for you.

You Never Know

You never know when someone
may catch a dream from you...
You never know when a little word
or something you may do
may open up the windows of a mind
that seeks the light...
The way you live may not matter at all
but you never know, it might...
and just in case it could be
that another's life through you,
might possibly change for the better
with a broader and brighter view,
it seems it might be worth a try
at pointing the way to the light...
Or course, it may not matter at all,
but then again, it might!
